SHAME ON THE DEVIL!
As I type this segment of SOTD, I am preparing for the grandest season of the year. Thanksgiving/ Christmas. My favorite time..
Seems like it was just here, but then again here we are with a new season in the air and happy thoughts are running through my head as I LOOK FORWARD to being together with all my family.
I look forward to sitting by the fireplace in my rocking chair watching the fire,putting up the Christmas tree, wrapping gifts, eating too much,seeing all the Christmas movies and holding my grandchildren in my lap. Wow. what a good life. I am one happy man.
Glenda will be cooking- A LOT! She’ll even make some of that stuff the doctors forbade me to have But during this time of year I get something called AMNESIA!
There’ll be turkey/dressing, Ham, mashed potatos, green beans, fried okra, sweetater casserol, broccolli casserole, corn on the cob, cranberry sauce, bisquits, cornbread, and oh yes my favorite dessert– COCONUT CAKE! YUM YUM! No cardboard/ fruit and exercise. There’ll be plenty of that come January.
And Glenda’s promised to extract all the bad stuff ( you know– calories, butter, salt,sugar, and so forth,) out of all the delicacies. I’m certain I heard her make that promise.
I’ll look forward to reading the TRUE CHRISTMAS STORY to all the family before one Christmas gift is opened.And not until! You see, I have grandchildren. 5 of them. And I want them to know they had a grandpa that believed the CHRISTMAS STORY OF JESUS. AND DIDN’T CARE WHO KNOWS IT! And he didn’t care to share it!
I’m looking for missletoe. I’m slower than I used to be so I’ll need to hang some over every door and every other place I can think of.
I’m going to sing. Sing throughout the season. I’ll stop in all the stores during shopping excursions and I’m going to sing Silent Night, Noel! Joy To the World, O Little town of Bethlehem! and I’m gonna shout MERRY CHRISTMAS making sure they hear it above all the Happy Hollidays the politically correct crowd sheepishly mumbles out.
And I’m gonna SMILE! Smile at everyone. I’m gonna smile like I’ve just learned how. I’m gonna spread some stuff called JOY! JOY TO THE WORLD!! Why all the Joy you might ask?
Joy- because my saviors birthday is coming and He came to bring peace on earth and good will to men.Remember? He died for me! He arose the 3rd day. He saved me one night at Bethel Baptist church. JOY! JOY ! JOY TO THE WORLD!!
AAHH I can’t wait. Thanksgiving. starts the season off. I’m going to tell my Jesus just how thankful I am for Life. and the chance to persue it. I’m going to give him praise. How come?
Well, because He deserves it! Why not?
I’ve even got something for old Satan. And I’m sure you can probably guess what it is. It’s a great big old SHAME ON THE DEVIL!!!
