Sometimes ….you just need
When I’m broken from the battle.
And I’ve lost another round.
Satan whispers to my troubled mind just lay your armor down.
Where are those you loved and trusted… Look around you they’re gone.
Would be easy to surrender when you’re standing all alone.
Sometimes a songwriter can put things just the way you feel. How? That’s above my pay grade.
I’m just thankful he sends me a song sometimes that helps us express what goes on in our heart.
But don’t let the melancholy win…
AND I SEE A GREAT BAND OF ANGELS CAMPED ALL AROUND ME
AND I SEE THE CAPTAIN RISING UP THE CHALLENGE TO MEET.
I KNOW I’M SAFE FROM HARM WHEN I’M TOUCHING JESUS
THE BATTLE IS HIS THE VICTORY IS MINE AND VICTORY IS SWEET
The Bible says:
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. (Colossians 3:16 KJV)
Sing, Oh sing unto the Lord!
It’s Saturday, January 31, 2015. The last day in the first month of the new year!
Can you believe it?
No I’m not going to ask you about your New Years resolutions ..heehee.
But if you are or were planning on doing anything in the first month of this year, then today is the last chance you will have to get it done.
Food for thought this morning… The Bible says:
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. (Romans 12:1-2 KJV)
Is God asking too much?
Is it unfair? Should we form a rebellion against God??
John the Revelator said:
And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, (Revelation 1:5 KJV)
Well I’ll tell you what….
He didn’t have to come.
He could have let us die in our sins. He could have said NO!
So the next time when you get full of yourself and think God has no right to demand anything out of you, just remember how he suffered and bled and died for your sins.
Just a little reminder incase you haven’t thanked him yet this year.
Have A Heavenly Day.
In Matthew 24 The Bible speaks about the signs ….
And as I read them today, this one leaped off the page :
And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. (Matthew 24:12 KJV)
My study bible said this:
False teachers and loose morals lead to a destructive disease — The loss of true love for God and others.Sin cools your love for God and others by turning your focus on yourself. You cannot truly love if you think only of yourself.
I’m not going to debate over whether or not this is prevalent in our generation….
I just have one ??? What are we going to do….now?
To late to ask when will this happen…. Better to ask….
Well what shall we do now?
What can wash away my sin? Nothing but the Blood of Jesus.
What can make me whole again? NOTHING BUT THE BLOOD OF JESUS.
My my but it sure is getting late…..
I visited a local nursing home yesterday as a voluntary Chaplin.
The facility treats everything from rehab patients who are there for a short convalescence, to the poor unfortunate invalid who will never leave the place alive.
It was an experience that I will not soon forget.
Some could not feed themselves. Many could not walk. Some were confused and some were understandably angry.
Rich or poor, young or old,
Life left no one out.
I could hear a special dear lady leading a group in sacred hymns in the cafeteria that was also a makeshift concert hall.
I watched as some would sing along, some would smile, others would be scarcely aware of what was going on; a few just gazed into the gray cloudy sky just outside the window.
As I witnessed the special effort of the caregivers I realized that not everyone was cooperative. But regardless they lovingly gave them the care they needed.
Then I caught a tear as it dripped from my eye as I saw what the Lord had brought me there to see.
The Bible says:
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. (Matthew 11:28-30 KJV)
While not everyone liked what was going on, still the Caregivers faithfully took care of them.
It visualized what the Heavenly Father does in our lives.
Abiding, Faithfully, Dependably. Never forsaking…..
It’s early, and I just might wake a few up, but I think I’ll go Shout it from the roof tops for a while!!
PTL!!! PTL!! PTL!!!
For His Loving Care.
Have A Heavenly Day.
The Bible says:
Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. (Colossians 3:2-3 KJV)
Where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. No treasure this side of the grave lasts forever.
It is said that the love of money is the root of all evil.
Strange how much of Gods Word is known by mortal man, and how seldom it is heeded. The lures, the trappings of sin are indeed seductive. And it is the weakness of man that makes it so effective.
What’s wrong with this or what’s wrong with that has become a favorite pastime of the modern church as they drift away from God to play with sin instead of standing firmly against it.
Remember when the battle cry once was “what must I do to be saved?”
Well today it seems to be How much evil can I get away with and still get to Heaven?
Where’s your affection today?
I’m with Joshua…
CHOOSE YE THIS DAY WHOM YE WILL SERVE!
As for me and my house…
WE WILL SERVE THE LORD!!!!
The Bible says:
Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. (Jude 1:3 KJV)
Earnestly contend for the Faith!
What does that say to you?
My study, my mind, my heart has been drawn to this smallest book of the New Testament of late.
And that phase. That mind boggling phrase “earnestly….contend…for…The Faith”.
Sounds sobering, doesn’t it?
It seems like a Battle Cry!!
A shot across the bow if you will.
This from the pen of Jude …the half brother of Jesus.. . And He sounds serious about this contending business.
Tell me this :
For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear? (1 Peter 4:17-18 KJV)
I must tell you all….
This ….moves …me. You?
When your backs against the wall.theres nothing else you can do!!!
God likes to work when nothing else will!!!
It’s Tuesday Morning.Just feel like singing!! The Lord inhabits the courts of them who will praise Him.
And the Bible says:
The Lord is my strength and song, and he is become my salvation: he is my God, and I will prepare him an habitation; my father’s God, and I will exalt him. (Exodus 15:2 KJV)
That actually was the first concert recorded in the Word of God.
Choir Director was a man by the name of MOSES!!
It was a fitting occasion , the Lord had just delivered them from Egypts hand as they crossed the Red Sea.
Ol Pharohs army got Drownded that day and all his men. Gone were hundreds of years of oppression and persecution.
Then MOSES started the first Gospel Singing right there on the banks of the Red Sea!! They praised the Lord for He had given them Victory that Glorious day.
It would do our Day good if we took the time to thank Him for what He has done already in our lives.
Before you ask for that next “just got to have thing” think of this…. Remember the last time He came to the rescue? Did you stop to just say thank you Lord?
Well, now would be as good a time as any.
Then you could…
Have A Heavenly Day
We’ve got sick and affliction Goin throughout the clan today. My Precious Glenda came home from work barely able to stand.(she’s resting now). My nephews daughter reportedly has a touch of RSV.
One of my remaining living Aunts went back into the hospital this evening in serious condition down in Florida. Whew!!
My Dr. Called me today and wants to see me next week. That’s good and maybe not so good. God has it under control.
Folks never take your health and good times for granted.
There are dark days in store and these good times and good health should be cherished.
Remember a quote from The Bible:
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. (James 1:17 KJV).
You can have no peace no joy, no tranquility….without The Lord.
This side of Heaven we bare pain & Heartbrake.
But…..Over There, Just beyond the River. It’ll be different. ……WE WIN!!
HALLELUJAH, JUST AS SURE AS THE SUNRISE, WE WIN!!!!!
Study this one would you?
The Bible says:
With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments. Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. (Psalms 119:10-11 KJV)
That speaks of Committment. There are times when we know there are difficulties lying ahead.
We don’t need a Word from Heaven to know it.
And yet we dash off and leave the Lord out of our day. When we step into the trouble that is sure to be there, we cry “Why Me Lord” , I’m Sure The Lord has on His record book -You didn’t take me with you.
Let’s face it, we know “the evil one” ol Satan himself is out there lerking about waiting for us to show our weakness; but let’s not give him a freebee.
The Psalmist gives us good direction. Filling our heart with Gods infallible forever settled in Heaven Holy Word can thwart many of the Devils fiery darts before they are even hurled. So the edge is definitely in our favor, and Victory certain!!
It begins with a heart that seeks after God’s perfect Will.
Start your day right. Give the Devil a headache before he gives you one.
How do you begin?
John 3:16 could be a great start.
Have A Heavenly Day.
A day of praises to our Lord & Savior. And as the old Eagle lands safely back home we lift our eyes & heart to the Heavens and thank God for a great week, answered prayer, and a bountiful weekend. Many an altar soaked with tears this weekend as repentant hearts confessed sins and dedicated or rededicated hearts to God.
It is thrilling when a soul is saved. The Angels rejoice when Hearts come to Jesus. PTL!!! PTL!!!
It was one of those kind of Days @ Harmony Baptist in Dalton Ga.
From Sunday school till the last Amen, it was a spectacular day today.
And as the day comes to a close …. We count ..our blessings.
Food, clothing, shoes for our feet, a roof over our heads, a family -and love that fills a home with happiness and joy.
Children to carry our legacy on;….a job, ….
When I walked in the door of our home I found my wife of 42 yrs ,Glenda , battling the flu but still managing a big smile for her man as he comes in .
Ahhhh yes I’m the most blessed man of all.
To God be all the Glory.
