Surely Goodness and Mercy

Good morning my precious friends.
God Bless you today.

The Bible says:
“Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭23:6‬ ‭KJV‬‬
How comforting and reassuring that is. To know that we are kept by his mighty hand; those hands that measured out the sea and created the entire universe. Man, to know that awesome power is surrounding us with his protection!!!

The Devil himself even admitted to GOD that he couldn’t get to Ol Job because God had his mighty Hand on him and he couldn’t get to him.
Well Glory!! Does that feel good or are you breathing?
To know we are that safe in Christ Jesus! No weapon formed against us will prosper!!
And the Psalmist said that fortification continues for all the days of our lives!!! God never gives up on us!!! He doesn’t change his attitude toward us!

By our side, thick or thin, rich or poor, bound or free!

Is it an easy road?

Well the devil won’t let that happen and otherwise we would never know how Gods protection feels until we are exposed to life’s hazards.

God doesn’t intend to make spoiled brats out of us . We will be battle tested.

But we will have a defense!!! Oh yeah, we surely will, that will always work for our good (Rom 8:28).

So today it’s a treasure knowing these things that increase our faith and courage to travel on in his mighty name!!!
Have A Heavenly Day.

In the midst

Good morning.
The Lord is in the midst.

Though you cannot see him though you may not hear him, even though the World denies him, He’s still in the midst!

What comfort comes from that presence . What assurance we have, Christ Jesus promised never to leave me, never to leave me alone.

And he has been faithful to his promise.
He said:

“Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭46:10‬ ‭KJV‬‬
Aren’t you glad he’s there???

Have a Heavenly Day.
PS: “Be still, and know….

Prayer it’s simple right?

Good morning.
Whew!! Yesterday went by so fast I woke up this morning with an aching neck like I had whiplash !!

Heehee.( and Devil that’s all the help I’m givin you today!).
We’re so glad the Lord brought all our family home safe and sound last night though it did take one of our crew a trip to the local er before he could get in the door.

Nothing serious as it turned out but just the same scary at the time.

We thank the Lord for his mighty hand that was on our family.
Again it was sad news to hear of a friend who lost his companion suddenly day before yesterday.

Bro Tim we’re still lifting you and the entire family up in prayer while in this valley.
Do you pray much? That’s a sensitive ??? I’m sure, but not meant to condemn or judge you. Just an honest search. I frankly spend too little time before Gods presence. And don’t get me wrong, that disturbs me. Because my prayer life is vital to my relationship with God and my well being for me and my loved ones.

Remember the old old hymn ???

1. What a friend we have in Jesus,

all our sins and griefs to bear!

What a privilege to carry

everything to God in prayer!

O what peace we often forfeit,

O what needless pain we bear,

all because we do not carry

everything to God in prayer.
2. Have we trials and temptations?

Is there trouble anywhere?

We should never be discouraged;

take it to the Lord in prayer.

Can we find a friend so faithful

who will all our sorrows share?

Jesus knows our every weakness;

take it to the Lord in prayer.
3. Are we weak and heavy laden,

cumbered with a load of care?

Precious Savior, still our refuge;

take it to the Lord in prayer.

Do thy friends despise, forsake thee?

Take it to the Lord in prayer!

In his arms he’ll take and shield thee;

thou wilt find a solace there.
Sounds so simple doesn’t it? Just cast it all on Jesus…

So simple the world thinks it’s foolish .

But that’s what the Word says to do:
“Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.”

‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭5:6-7‬ ‭KJV‬‬
But it all starts with that first … ” Father in Heaven…” A humble, holy, presence seeking request for His glorious time

And if your without any faith man your wasting your breath:
“But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.”

‭‭James‬ ‭1:6-7‬ ‭KJV‬‬
Seems the fight with ol Satan gets stronger as the end of our journey nears .

Last thing he wants is for us To go to our knees to our Heavenly Father!!
But stay faithful friends, the Lord loves his children and listens when they call.
Think I’ll go callin him right now!

See you after the blessings come down!!!!
Have a Heavenly Day.

Don’t break the rules

Good evening.
Many have forgotten this commandment.:
“Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,”

‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭6:17‬ ‭KJV‬‬
The Lord has rules. We can’t be like Jesus and disobey his rules.
Ask yourself a ???

Why would I want to please Anyone else but Him?
Good night.

Sing your Song!

Good morning.
Wednesday April 20, 2016. Hump day.
The Bible says:
“Praise ye the Lord: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭147:1‬ ‭KJV‬‬
It’s been said that it can calm the savage beast.

It was used by David to console King Saul…

How many times has a song come to your mind?

I remember my mom tell me how she could learn to memorize material in school .

She would find a tune that would fit the study material and before you knew it she knew it by heart.

But oh the pleasure and joy that music brings us.

Do you have a song ? In your heart?sing it child of God , sing it!! Let the whole world hear your song.

It will make your day brighter. The work will zoom by. And you’ll feel rejuvenated all at the same

Time.

God knew the value of a good song.

I believe he loves music.

And don’t we all?

Some like different styles .

Me? I m a Gospel Music man!!

That s the stuff praise comes from. A happy heart. Sing children sing.

It is said that the Children of Israel when entering into captivity hung their harps in the willows.

Their song had stopped.

They were in a strange land. Their hopes had been dashed, their future left uncertain. Even their captors longed for their song. How strange is that?

A captor, guarding the captive, wanted to hear their song.
There’s a special annointing I believe in the music of God. Why? Because it gives praise to Him! The scriptures called it pleasant.

And it honors our Lord and Savior.

So sing your song this morning.

Is it Amazing Grace?

Rock of Ages?

Maybe it’s Jubilee!

I remember the old jingle sung by the Gospel music legends years ago as they taped the broadcast ” Gospel Singing Jubilee”

Your invited to this happy jubilee!!

Oh children that made you want to go to church!!

Yes we miss that today.

But we don’t have to stop singing! We can lift our voice and sing!

 Sing From your heart.

Make that joyful noise! Let ‘ ER rip!!

Make glad the heart of GOD!!

He deserves it!!
Have a Heavenly Day.

Remember?

Good evening.
The Bible has news:
“And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead?
And they remembered his words, And returned from the sepulchre, and told all these things unto the eleven, and to all the rest.”

‭‭Luke‬ ‭24:5, 8-9‬ ‭KJV‬‬
 And they remembered his words.

That’s what the book said!

They heard what he said. They were now face to face with the prophecy and it happened just like he said it would!

Well Glory to God!

Do you know what they were talking about?

Remember?

It’s what was in the tomb…

Or in this case what

wasn’ t in the tomb!!!!

Oh don’t get me started!!!
The Angels had a ??? Why seek ye the living among the dead!!!!
They began to remember.

The Lord told them what would happen. Did it ever sink in? Well if not, then it had now!!

Those Angels had news!!!! Oh good news for you and me!!!

Why seek him here? He is risen!!! Come see where they laid him!!!

Oh The Body was missing!

Oh Hallelujah!! The grave lost its victory!!!

Death was defeated!! No sting!!!

Oh PTL!!! That’s big big news friend!!!

Our Hope hinged upon that empty tomb!! If the Devil could stop him here, then our families who have died in the Lord would perish!

The Song would have ended! The message would have been to no avail…No preaching needed.

The message would change to Jesus is an impostor!!

But they heard the news with their own ears!! They saw the empty tomb with their own eyes!

They remembered his words!!!

That’s significant my friend!! When they saw the truth they believed.

But it was later when Jesus spoke to Thomas … Ol doubting Thomas…

You see and you believe.

Then he added.

” Blessed are they whom having not seen but they believe!”.
Remember His words…
Good night.

A Meeting of Born Agains

Good evening.
It’s a joy to meet a truly born again Christian this day and time.

Many though, are

Playin undercover these days either afraid for the world to find out they are a Christian or not able to give an effective

Testimony

Of their experience.

But some don’t have that problem…. PTL and they are a joy!!

Met one this evening.

Known him for years .

Ran into him at HomeDepot.

A total bundle of joy!

I laughed as he joked about some meeting he had just been in and here I caught him inviting people to church …. That’s right! There in the isle of Home Depot he was inviting people to church.

Now you don’t see that every trip to HD!
He spotted me. Hadn’t seen him in a while.

But from half way across the store there went out this shout Lynn Epperson!!

Half the busy store stopped what they were doing and looked down the corridor to see what in the world was going on!

Now I’ve done business with these folks a good while now and they kind of have a heads up as to what to expect when

Ol Pawpaw Epperson comes in… I admit they were at

First apprehensive but they got used to me. And now they know he’s harmless. Heehee.

But here we came to meet in the center of the store and he began talking about his pastor.

His church

And the singing he went to the other night.

Imagine that. It’s Monday ballgames going on all weekend and no telling what else and what does this fellow have on his mind right there in the middle of Home Depot… On Monday evening?

Not The Braves, Not Tennessee Football, Not the NBA playoffs….

CHURCH!!!

Oh how refreshing that is!!!

Are you that excited about your church?

We had just returned from all weekend meetings in South Georgia and had lots to tell about this weekend past. He hung onto every word!

So there you have it…. 2 born again Christians still excited about their Spiritual New birth!! And about the church they love , the song God has placed in their hearts, and the family of GOD they Cherish.

Where do you see that these days?

Ahhhh I could have stayed a while enjoying that.

I know I know.

Some will say Lynn you need to keep that in the church and leave the world outside alone.
Sorry friend but I disagree completely!

You see in Sunday School this past we studied about the great commission.

You check it out.

Matt 28:18-20.

The call of every born again Christian…

No where does it tell us to retreat and seal ourselves off into a tomb and conceal what God has out in our hearts!

Hallelujah!! PTL, no sirree! God said to go and tell!! Not sit and smell!!

Yes I guess the ol Devil would get s kick out of every Christian hiding the Gospel In a church building! Behind the 4 walls.

That way the world would never hear the life changing news that Jesus died for their sins to save us!!! Oh I get it the Devil doesn’t want that to get out!!!

So he tries to intimidate us into withdrawing to the hiding place and silencing the Voice of Christianity!

No way Jose!!!!

While there’s breathe in the truly born again, we will tell it whereever we can when we can . And the devil can take a hike!!!

Cause his days are numbered!!

Soon and very soon we are going to see the king!!

Yes soon and very soon we are going to see

the king! Hallelujah Hallelujah we’re going to see the king!!
I left with a Harty laugh as

I heard him say if you hear I’m dead and they have my funeral tell em it’s a lie!!

He said

I’ll be more alive than I’ve ever been!!!!

To That I said GLORY TO GOD!!!
Have you had a visit to HD like that one lately?

Heeheehee!

It was the best deal they had in the entire store!!!
Good night.

Labour of love

Good morning.
Its a beautiful morning, isn’t it?
The Bible says:
“Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father;”

‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭1:3‬ ‭KJV‬‬
That point this morning I’m aiming at is the “Labour of Love”.
Bibleornot.org defines it as:

Labor of Love Meaning – The quote ‘labor of love’ is used to describe a person’s reason for doing work that may not have a self-serving or monetary benefit. The work and energy, i.e. labor, is expended for the benefit of others or because it provides a sense of purpose, goodness, satisfaction or well being.
Now whom do you expect a service like that to come from? I can think of a few but more than likely I d expect it to come from the heart of a saint of God.

They’re usually doing a lot of the giving today and so little is gotten in return…

I’ve seen ministers my

My and singers and laypeople in the church work tirelessly on projects that led to great results but very little monetary benefit ever came their way for it.

But that’s the MO as we call it in these modern times of the Christian.

You’ve heard me mention the name of R G Lee and his famous sermon “Payday Someday!”.

Oh yes as the song goes I’ll get my reward in the morning. When I get to the other side.

Well the world thinks that’s silly. They wouldn’t think of wasting their time and not get paid for it, often in advance .

But one must have love in their heart in order to do a Labour of love.
And yet it doesn’t go unnoticed. Nor is it forgotten :

“For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.”

‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭6:10‬ ‭KJV‬‬
God smiles when he sees us imitate his Son.

Tell me today, what is your Labour of Love?
Have a Heavenly Day.

Phillippians 4:13

Good morning.
The Bible says:
“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”

‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4:13‬ ‭KJV‬‬
When Satan interupts your day with his lies , tell him what God told you!!!

Tell him to go back where he came from!!
Have a Heavenly day.

That Tongue!!

Good evening.
The Bible says:
“Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth! And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.”

‭‭James‬ ‭3:5-6‬ ‭KJV‬‬
I ve heard hundreds

Of sermons regarding the message about the tongue. Many a tongue have gotten us in trouble.
One story goes :

a preacher was in revival.

A woman came to him after

His sermon one night and said she wanted to lay her tongue on the altar following his version of the sermon.

To her reply the crusty ol Preacher said ma’am, that altars only about 12ft long.
He said you will have to let the rest of it hang over the end of the altar!

Heeheehee. Now to me, that’s funny.

But some might take offense today, though there’s a message in that story alone.

But that ll do for another day.

But as the text reads tonight, the tongue is dangerous. It says it’s a fire. When one gets

To waggin too much it sure can start a commotion.

Have you ever

Noticed the animals have a tongue too.

But the trouble doesn’t come from them. It’s from those that were given a brain to go with it.

That’s a dangerous combination. Seems like some just don’t know how to use theirs.

They lead to no good sometimes.

It could be they spoke before they let their brain work.

I know I’ve often done that.

And I learned to be more

Careful but still let it get the best of me from time to time.

It’s even more important since I surrendered to the calling to preach.
I often trip on my words. Sometimes I realize only Tooo late that somethings I’ve said just didn’t come out the way I meant for them to. But then it’s too late.

Ever felt that way?

Just the same , it s too late after the fact and those words you say have a way of hurting. And ,of coming back to haunt you.

Boy,

did I learn that one the hard way.

But if it’s so dangerous you have to wonder why did God let us have one and a mind to go with it?

Heehee I doubt that he intended for us to get ourselves in to all that trouble with it!

But we often do.

But the Bible gives good instruction… To guard your lips for they can utter things that might be divisive And hurtful.they can do A lot of damage.

I can remember we used to say the childhood poem… Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never harm me.

Boy,were they ever wrong about that. That once could be said with fairly good assurance, but they were counting on folks being mannerly and courteous.

Today it seems that many folks no nothing about either .

The pitiful stuff that I’ve heard from some lips these days…. Why….

My grandma would a washed their

Mouths out with soap!

Yep child abusers !! That’s what I called it too.

But then there was

More trouble that followed

For the little rascle I was.

I quickly learned that there were some things that were better left unsaid.

But The tongue is meant to communicate and Praise to the Lord!

Not be profane and

Reckless.

Tonight can you think back?

The things you’ve said today….

CareTo take any of it back if you could?

Yeah

Me too.
But God knows our heart.

And that warning is good Biblical instruction. Let’s have a study period on it!

Think it would be good therapy to think more before we talked.

Think it would do us all a while lot of good!

Gotta say “oh Me” on that one.
Good night.
